Here Comes Trouble
Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a mother&daughter at the Museumplein in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. I've had so much fun yesterday shooting wicked reflections, the puddles were deep, the sun brilliant and the people pretty and friendly, just the way it should be. I really like this mother/daughter team, they look fashionable, nice and thanks to the girls bright colors, very puddlelicious :)
Here Goes Trouble
I also shot a wicked reflection video at the same spot, check it out on my YouTube page :)
I've uploaded some photos of their big-screen news program reflected in a puddle to the 'AT5' website and they published them :)

UUnedited mobile phone cam shot of the giant TV on the Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. The giant TV screen on the Rembrandtplein, showing an ad for 'AT5', the local news station that allows us to upload photos and videos of news-worthy items...they've shown a bunch of my photos there as well, it's fun and cool to make your own news for the best city in the world. Here are some of my photos posted on their site:

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of a girl on a poster advertising the 'Amsterdam International Fashion Week', reflecting the Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam. No editing besides some added contrast and saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Fashion is a big issue in the best city in the world, everybody is hip&fly, the girls are pretty, the bikes are sexy and everybody looks like they should be on the cover of the 'Vogue'. Sometimes, when I wear my old Chucks with the 'Ollie hole' , I feel out of place and unstylish, but then I remember that luckily my bike looks good enough for both of us ;-)
These 2 tourist girls were really lucky, they caught me, the Mystery-M@n who usually hides behind his mobile phone, off-guard while chilling outside the 'Coffee Company' with a delicious 'Americano', they didn't hesitate for a second and decided to secretly shoot me! Easier said than done...
To stop me from noticing what evil things they were up to, they nonchalantly walked towards me, casually shooting from the hip in a non-offensive manner that might have gone unnoticed, if it wasn't for...
Well, they gave up hiding what they were doing when they saw my eggy head plastered all over their digital screens, it was just too much and the laughter lasted for hours...the end ;-))
The Butt Attack
Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a girl on her bike, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. As you can see, biking in the best city in the world is not only dangerous because of all the ice&snow covering the streets, but also because you could be ruthlessly attacked by a pack of cigarette butts at any given moment ! They are known to hide in dark corners and shallow puddles until their prey passes by, then they'll jump up and kick
The Dutch Dame
Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of a girl on her bike, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam. No editing besides some added contrast and saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. I totally love and admire the Dutch girls for controlling their bikes in such a stylish, pretty, sexy and dedicated way...it's so much fun riding behind one of these biking babes (sorry ;), watching her talk on the mobile with her girlfriends, putting on some Make-up, reorganizing the bag, listening to music on the iPod, swerving around stoned tourists and all this while traveling with the speed of light, one moment you see them, the next moment they're just a trail of smoke and a dot at the horizon, disappearing into the sunset...you gotta love 'em :))
The Donkey Dude
Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a guy on a bike carrying the complete content of his living room with him, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. So, it's Monday again, Amsterdam is covered in snow again and it's time to say 'Almost weekend' again...this week starts as a giant Déjà vu, or did I say that already?! I like how this guy is making the best out of a bad situation, biking with such cluttery items hanging from your bike and limbs, it's not easy to see&avoid the ice-patches in the streets, making him a strong candidate for the Darwin Awards :)
Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a girl walking past the Central Station in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. I like the hat of this girl, it makes her look like Winnie the Pooh! She was checking me out as if she had this suspicion that there might be honey in my bag, her greedy eyes were stroking it with hungry eyeballs, but I chased her away as it was my own Winter-ration of the sweet stuff, every bear for him/herself when it comes to Hibernation-preparation!
Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of a poster advertising the movie 'Avatar', reflecting the 'Subway' on the other side of the street. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Everybody is talking about that movie but I can't be bothered to watch it. Besides the fact that the people in it are blue, I don't like going to cinemas, you have to sit still for hours, can't smoke, can't talk, can't walk around or even pause the movie...I'll
Have you seen the Bruno movie already? That guy is hilarious and gay, haha :D
The Rapper Xzibit was in Amsterdam and of course he went to a coffeeshop...he even made a movie of him&his Homies chilling out and smoking weed :))
AmsterS@m The Interview
The 'Photo Amsterdam' website did an interview with me :)
A Sparkling Conversation
Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of a girl on the phone, reflected in a puddle. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. This young lady must have had a really good talk with somebody on the phone, the sparks are flying in all directions...what's a bit unusual about her is that she is not riding a bike, freshing up her make-up and text-messaging her girlfriends at the same time, the typical multitasking way the Amsterdam girls communicate and do their thing...maybe she's only moved here and still needs to learn how to do 5 things at the same time while rushing down the street on a steel horse ;-))
The Dark Riders
Unedited mobile phone cam shot of 2 bikers, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Riding a bike in Amsterdam is one of the best things ever, I just love cruising around with some music in my ears, watching the people and the pretty buildings, trying not to hit too many stoned tourists stumbling through the streets, always looking out for nice puddles to shoot and in general just enjoying the simple things in life...the only thing that bothers me a bit is that I often do this while on my way to work, I'd much rather get paid for just biking around, but there are not many people that are willing to give me money for that activity, haha ;-D
Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of typical Amsterdam buildings, reflected in a puddle. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Just in case you're wondering, I'm not speaking in tongues, the title refers to the 'Avenue Hotel' that you see in the middle of the picture...and in case you've missed it, here's again a link to the interview with me that was published this week on the 'Photo Amsterdam' website, check it out :))
Don't Blame The Messenger
Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a guy on a bike and a Mailman, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. This shot is a bit unusual for me, it's blurry and I don't like that in my reflections, but I do like the way that the Mailman is walking towards the bike without looking left or right...but don't blame the Messenger/Mailman if he gets hit by a bike, he's just trying to bring us our mail as quickly as possible, good man :)
The Puddle Guard
Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a guy guarding my puddle, reflected in it. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. So, I hope you made it alright through 'Blue Monday' and are, like me, looking forward to the weekend! Maybe I'll invite my puddle guard for some coffee&cake, he must be getting cold out there watching over my puddle, checking water depth&temperature and ensuring that nobody but me uses it...a dedicated guy ;-D
Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a biker in front of the Munt tower, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Today is 'Blue Monday' , the worst day of the year. "Blue Monday is a name given to a date stated, to be the most depressing day of the year." The good thing about today is that it starts the countdown towards the next weekend, so hang in there, keep your head up and think of something nice, almost weekend :))
Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of tourists on the Dam square, reflected in a puddle. No editing besides some fiddling with contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. These guys almost look like Charlie's Angels, standing in a circle outside the Royal Palace on the Dam, trying to shoot their surroundings from all angles...and they're having a good time too, probably spending the days hanging out in Coffeeshops, enjoying the...coffee ;-P
Sometimes I wish I could visit the best city in the world as a tourist, with a fresh vision on Amsterdam, to enjoy it as if it was the first time, to really appreciate all the beauty, culture and history that this lovely town is build on...but then again, it also feels mighty good to be a local and know every little backstreet, every good bar and all the friendly, wonderful people that live here :)))

The Good Old Days
If these days of the Ice age, economic collapse and Planet-saving attempts are too much for you, take a trip down memory lane, when life was still all about nice things and easy going togetherness :)))
Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a biker and a pedestrian outside the Casino on the Damrak, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Life often resembles a Casino, sometimes people win, sometimes people lose and sometimes the bank takes it all and we go home empty-handed...I don't like gambling as the chances to walk away with the big price seem rather slim, but I do like the fact that life is not predictable, anything can happen, everybody gets a chance and some of us are big time winners :)
The good people at the Amsterdam news site 'AT5' have posted some of my snow pictures, yay :))
This shot was also used by the Subtlemob folks to promote an upcoming event in Amsterdam!

Walking Into The Weekend
Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a woman walking into the wicked water world, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Thank God it's Friday! It's my free day for this week and I'm really happy about it, going back to work after being lazy for 3 weeks was not easy and I'm glad I've got a chance to chill out for a couple of days now...I think work is completely overrated and should soon be replaced with a state pension for everybody above 18 years, so that we can focus on the important things in life, like friendship, love and serious hanging out in nice places, haha ;-D
Sharing Is Caring
Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a guy&a girl sharing one bike, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Sharing your bike with somebody else is a good thing, it saves resources and space in the street, if everybody in Amsterdam would take another person on the back of their bike, this place would be even lovelier than it is already...but with these harsh Winter weather conditions you have to be double careful, because if you fall, you both fall :)
Mobile phone cam shot of Me, Myself&I, reflected on the spare wheel of a car, shot last Summer. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation. I really like this Winter and all the snow and everything, but sometimes I wish it was Spring already, I miss wearing my shorts and shirts, I miss hanging out in the park with my friends, I miss chilling out on my balcony for days, I miss the whole Summer vibe...just a few more weeks and it's Spring :)
Mobile phone cam shot of Me, Myself&I, reflected on the side of a car. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation. So, yesterday was my first day of work after 3 weeks Winter vacation and I was a bit sad and not really looking forward to it, but after having managed to bike the 10 kilometers to the office without falling, I was pleased to find that everybody was really nice, sweet and helpful to get me back into the rhythm and all in all it was a good day, not something everybody can say about a Monday after coming out of hibernation, I guess I'm just a really lucky guy...I also managed to book a week off for Queensday already, so I've got something to look forward to in the next months, haha :D
Mobile phone cam shot of myself, reflected in the mirror of a bike. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation. Today is a very sad day for me...after 3 weeks Winter vacation I have to go back to work, booohoooo! To further my agony, first I'll have to bike 10 kilometers through slippery streets on my lovely bike before I even get to enjoy my work day...but at least I'll have unlimited amounts of coffee&hot chocolate at my disposal once I'll make it to the office and I can watch the wicked Winter from the window while waiting for the end of the day...luckily it's almost Spring now and my Queensday vacation is coming up :)
Unedited shot of a car and a pedestrian in Amsterdam reflected in an icepuddle, taken with a Panasonic DMC-FX35. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Driving a car these days must be a weird experience, you slip and slide over the ice crust without control of your direction and are often forced to spend hours or even whole nights standing around in the massive traffic jams...luckily it's almost Spring now, just a few more weeks :)
I've made a movie at the same spot, check it out on my YouTube page :)
If The Shoe Fits...
Unedited shot of a canal in Amsterdam covered with ice, taken with a Panasonic DMC-FX35. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. I like that big yellow clog-boat, it doesn't get more Dutch than this...I wish it was mine, I can see myself floating through the canals in the Summer in a giant yellow wooden shoe, waving at people, throwing candy at the kids and in general just having a grand time looking like a madman, haha :D
I've made a movie at the same spot, check it out on my YouTube page :)
Unedited shot of a biker in Amsterdam reflected in an icepuddle, taken with a Panasonic DMC-FX35. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Sticks&Stones can break their bones...and a ride on the iced-over bikepath in the best city in the world too! Many people have hurt themselves in the last weeks when riding their bikes through Amsterdam, even before we ran out of salt for the streets, it seems that our city hall has decided to try some Darwinistic progam on us, whoever survives the Winter through their fitness and biking skills is worth living here, if you fall, you lose and will be deported to some village in the countryside or something like that ;-P
I've made a movie at the same spot, check it out on my YouTube page :)
Fight The Cold
If you're a guy and you're cold, check out these videos, they should help you to get warm again, at least in some bodyparts (might work for women too), haha ;D
Winter Wonderland Amsterdam
The Amstel in Amsterdam covered with ice, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)
Of course I've made a movie of this lovely scene as well :)
The Panties Pansy
The Mofo who tried to blow up a plane on the first Christmas day unfortunately survived his attempt to kill almost 300 people but luckily severly burned his 'special area', I hope that shit hurts a lot and that he'll be in pain for manymany years to come! It's a good thing that he was so incompetent and retarded that his plan did not work out...here's a nice long article explaining why we should laugh at freaks like him and not be afraid of such Dickweeds :)))
Image 'borrowed' from http://www.smilespedia.com!
This is a cool movie that will help you get through this wicked Winter weekend :)
Winter Wonderland Amsterdam
Some more snow shots from Amsterdam. I just love this Winter, it's like back in the days when Winter was cold and Summer was hot, the way it should be. It helps that I've been off from work for the last 3 weeks, if you can stay inside and watch the snow storm from your warm living room, interrupted only by the occasional photo-stroll through the best city in the world, it's just so much more fun to have Siberian weather, hehe :))
To give you a better idea of what Amsterdam looks like when its covered in snow, here are some movies I shot :)
The Emperor's New Winter Clothes
Unedited shot of people on the Kalverstraat in Amsterdam reflected in a puddle, taken with a Panasonic DMC-FX35. No editing besides a bit of cropping, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)
This is the most winter'ish Winter I've seen in a long time, it snows almost every day for weeks now, trains and planes are delayed or canceled altogether and the shops ran out of salt for the streets, snow-shovels and yes, Winter clothes! The Dutch people are advised to go to Belgium or Germany to buy proper clothes for this kind of weather...what a Banana republic the Netherlands have become, haha :D
I've also made some new wicked movies at the same spot :)
Winter Wonderland Amsterdam
Of course I also took some photos of the good people of Amsterdam biking through the snow, because believe it or not, we just keep going on, Winter clothes or no Winter clothes, haha :))
Unedited shot of a biker and buildings close to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)
In the last weeks hundreds of Amsterdammers have broken their bones because city hall for some obscure reason refuses to do anything about the ice&snow covering the streets in the best city in the world, what a weird situation! The local news station AT5 has chosen to distract us from this really lousy way of handling the Winter by sending mixed signals, they make fun of the situation and claim that nobody got hurt, while in the national news they mention the manymany people that broke their bones...I don't get it, what are they trying to tell us?! :))
My Name Is Luca...
If you are one of those poor people who broke their bones and you need to stay in bed for some time, you could look up the latest news about Luca Prins, the girl that got famous a year ago for having so much... talent, haha ;-D

YouTube Porn Day
Today is the 'YouTube Porn Day', the world-famous people of the '4chan' website are planning on flooding YouTube with porn movies because they banned this kid from posting his videos, mhuahahaha :D
The Funky Finger
Unedited shot of people walking by the Casino in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)
I've been to the Casino only once, with a group of friends on a night out, we played some Roulette and actually won a couple hundred bucks that we then spent in clubs and bars until it was all gone...what a wicked night that was! In general I don't believe in gambling, it just offers so many options to get rid of your money, I'd rather spend it on things that I can still use and enjoy the next day :)
I've also made another wicked reflection movie at the same spot, watch it on my YouTube page :)
The Haunted House
Unedited shot of a house close to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, reflected in a canal, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. That building is so pretty, I might consider buying it too when I'm rich, and keeping it as a 2nd or 3rd home, maybe I'll let my friends who come to visit me in the best city in the world stay in there, I'm sure they'd like that. I'm also pretty sure that this house is haunted, it just has the right look for a building possessed by a Poltergeist or something, so I'll stick to the 'American Hotel' for my own personal sheltering needs, hehe ;-P
The Tower Of Power
Unedited shot of a house close to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, reflected in a canal, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. The area where this building lives is one of my favorites in all of Amsterdam, everything looks so neat and rich and pretty, the Rijksmuseum is just across the street, the Leidseplein around the corner and many other cool places within walking distance, including most of the big clubs in the best city in the world :))
The Haunted Power Video
Unedited movie of the haunted house and the tower of power, more on my wicked videos YouTube page :)
Big Is Beautiful
The good people of 'V Magazine' have made a video to show that their next issue will be devoted to models that don't look like a bag of bones and that's great because most men don't want to get hurt by the ribcage of their girl poking them when they get in close contact, we like real women with real bodies, not those Kate-Moss-types that look like they have not had a decent meal in years :)))
Inflation = Crime
The inflation rate in the US seems to be closely linked to the crime rate, who would have thunk that!

9/11 - The Missing Links
I really like reading up on all these '9/11' conspiracy theories, there's plenty of material on the web that makes you think and wonder just what happened on that tragic day...on my 'Links' page there is a whole section devoted to these theories and open questions, check it out!
This Is Not America
Unedited shots of the 'American Hotel' at the Leidseplein in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. I really like that building, it's pretty, it's big and it looks really good in a puddle. Once I'm rich from selling my wicked reflection pictures, I will buy the whole place and sit around on the top floor like Howard Hughes, secluded and mentally slightly on the edge, shooting puddle photos with the superstrong zoom of a specially handcrafted mobile phone cam made out of pure gold, encrusted with diamonds, worrying about germs instead of the important things in life, but you can always come and visit me in my giant suite, hahaha ;-D
I've also made a wicked reflection Movie at the same spot :)
This Is America
Officer Nutcase, the police man who arrested Charlie Sheen last week also makes movies and posts them on YouTube, one of them is about him masturbating in the Desert...what a Weirdo :D
I bet Charlie wishes that Hunter S. Thompson was the Sheriff of Aspen, haha :D
Safe For Work
Finally, a Pron movie you can watch while you're at work ;-P
Final Flesh, a movie made with Porn actors, but it's not Porn, wicked!
Bikey's The Best
Unedited shot of my bike standing around at the Leidseplein in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Bikey is the best, I'm looking forward to traveling many kilometers through the best city in the world on her in 2010 and I believe Bikey is also excited and happy to be my companion for dignified, healthy transportation in this year. If you have not done so yet, buy a bike and use it whenever possible, it's not just fun, it's also good for the planet and your personal health...do it, do it now, do it :D
It's The New Style...Again!
As the new year/decade begins, I've overhauled the design of this website, more colors, more confusing stuff...but ended up not liking it, so I've created a new set of icons and changed the design again, back to black&white and a new background image, clarity, simplicity :)
My Motto For 2010
Happy New Year :)))
Amstersam.com wishes you a superduper, happy, healthy 2010...I hope all your dreams come true and that from here on every year will be better than the last one until every year of your life is perfect and can not be improved anymore :))
I've made some movies of the Fireworks with my mobile :)
It's The New Style
As the new year/decade begins, I've overhauled the design of this website, more colors, more confusing stuff, I hope you like it :)
Bye Bye 2009, Hello 2010 :))
Unedited shot of some pretty girls standing around at a red light, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing besides a touch of added contrast, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. These girls seem to look somewhat critical into the future, or maybe they're just confused that I'm taking their picture in a puddle while they're waiting for the red light to turn green...whatever the reason, I think they should cheer up, as we are at the brink of a new year, a new chance to fulfill our dreams, hopes and good thoughts, to make new friends, make all those things happen that we did not manage to do in 2009 and to make the very best out of 2010 :))
I've made a new wicked reflection movie at the same spot, watch it on my YouTube page
